Press-to-Press Conveyor

A number of 4 lane press-to-press conveyors can be found in numerous plants across North America. One of the most adaptable conveyor produced by AEC Automotive, the adjustable Press-to-Press Conveyor allows for independent lane control. Both height and width are adjustable. Horizontal axis control for angular transfers between a double action press and a transfer press also comes standard on all Press-to-Press Conveyors. The final adjustment available is through its nose rollers. Each lane contains a retractable nose roller to assist in the pick-up of stampings for staging.

The conveyor system originally made for one of the three North American automotive manufacturers, also incorporates magnetic traction into the 4 lanes. This design feature ensures positive contact with complex shaped stampings. The conveyor was also equipped with a staging servo drive system that allows for accurate part transfer between presses in any plant. The staging system is PLC driven and completely programmable along with all other adjustable features.

Current models operate at 16 blanks per minute, staging 5 times. With all adjustments, standard parts and staging requirements programmed into the PLC controls, production rates increase while change over times are reduced from 20 minutes down to 2 minutes.
