Fred Goguen has been handling sales and estimating at AEC Engineering for nearly 20 years. But did you know he actually started his career as a biology/science teacher in parochial school? It didn’t take long for Fred to determine that teaching wasn’t his calling (or maybe he just didn’t fit in with the nuns!) and he took an industrial sales position with WA Kraft and that began his career in sales. After several years at Kraft, which was an education, he became the Factory Sales Manager for a ground water remediation company selling pumps and related equipment. This introduced him to control panels. Fred then stepped into a technical sales position for a larger company providing equipment and control panels to water/wastewater treatment plants. This is when Fred met David Whitten, founder of AEC Engineering and a friendly competitor. In 2003 Fred joined AEC Engineering in Freeport.

As he was climbing the career ladder Fred and his wife Cheri were raising their three children on Peaks Island, which requires a 20-minute commute on the Casco Bay Ferry each way. After 20 years on Peaks Island Fred moved to Harpswell, ME where he currently lives. Fred is an avid sailor and alpine skier.

Fred has been the face of AEC for 20 years. His experience across a wide range of industries has served him well. More importantly, this experience has served his customers well! The knowledge and experience of employees at AEC Engineering like Fred easily explains our loyal and happy customers.
