New Position: Sales Engineer

AEC Engineering is in the process of creating a new position titled Sales Engineer (or a title similar to that) and will be posting this position in the near future. The primary function of the position will be to promote AEC Engineering’s capabilities and to work with internal resources to propose solutions to customer needs. To be more specific, this person will:

Meet with customers in person, via video, or by phone to ascertain their needs, determine project requirements and deliverables, and create solutions. Prepare materials and labor estimates and develop quotes & proposals for customer review & approval based upon drawings and schematics provided or created. This may include researching components and/or collaborating with AEC partners to develop a solution best suited for the project. Present and defend the solution (if needed) to achieve a customer’s approval to proceed. Provide co-workers with complete and accurate documentation, answering technical questions as needed, and liaison with the customer if needed.

Self-motivated; organized and detail oriented; dependable; great follow through; motivated to contribute and help grow the company; communicates effectively with prospective customers as well as co-workers; ability to simultaneously have fun an stay focused on the necessary tasks; experience working under deadlines; proven success at working independently with little supervision.

The ideal candidate will also have the following technical skills. Not all these technical skills are required, however the more you can demonstrate, the more successful you will be in this position.

Experience with fabricating industrial control panels or closely related experience; high level of knowledge of PLCs, HMI’s, VFD’s, SCADA systems, and other components of an industrial control system; familiar reading electrical drawings and schematics; knowledge of manufacturing or water/wastewater processes and experience working in industrial environments.
