AEC is pleased to announce its 2023 sponsorship of Northern Force Robotics Team 172. This past fall they were finalists and runners-up at the ‘New England Robotics Derby’ and ‘River Rage’ competitions, and ranked 11th of 24 teams at the ‘Battle of the Bay’ competition. Northern Force competes in FIRST robotics competitions. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology. FIRST robotics programs offer opportunities to students not found in the school curriculum. The Northern Force Team 172 was established in 1996 and is currently made up of more than 25 students from Gorham and Falmouth high schools, plus 11 Falmouth middle schoolers. Supporting them are more than 20 adult mentors, and leading the team are Clare and Meredith Greenlaw. Daughter Sarah is an employee at AEC Engineering, as well as an alumna of the team and a mentor for the current students.
