Fred Goguen, the longtime face of AEC Engineering to customers, retired after 20 years with the company. Fred was hired by AEC founder David Whitten in February 2003 and has worked for three owners of the company since [David Whitten 2003-2006, Dave Audesse 2006–2020, Tim Hooper 2020-Present]. From the beginning, Fred’s goal was to provide reliable customer service and build long-term relationships. To that end, Fred was a success. His efforts have made AEC Engineering the control panel “go-to guys” for companies throughout New England, and the customers that he developed are still with us to this day. Fred’s work ethic was unmatched, as was his commitment to AEC Engineering, its customers, and his coworkers. He was always on time and rarely took a vacation day. Fred took his responsibility to keep jobs coming in the door very seriously. He knew the Shop relied on steady business to keep the staff busy.

“I can’t thank Fred enough,” said current President/Owner, Tim Hooper. “Fred is such an easygoing guy. He is a big reason AEC has such a positive work environment. And as an Estimator, he has been a huge help to the company, and to me personally. I’ll miss him and wish him the very best.”

Fred, a longtime sailor and fan of the ocean, has accepted a “retirement job” at the Finestkind Boatyard, which is a short walk from his home in Harpswell, ME.
