Our new 2,400 sq. ft. fabrication shop was completed in November, and we spent December outfitting the space with new workbenches, tools, and layout improvements. This expansion gives us the room we’ve needed to take on larger projects—both in enclosure size and production volume—and to work more efficiently.
The shop’s wide open layout, energy efficient lighting, and a 10′ wide x 12′ high overhead door make the environment highly versatile and adaptable for the full range of panel fabrication work we do.
The space was designed by Woodhull Architects, with construction supervised by the Woodhull Construction Services team. We chose a design build approach because it mirrors the way AEC Engineering delivers solutions to our own control panel customers—integrated, coordinated, and focused on quality.
A special shout out to metal building manufacturer Construx and our subcontractor partners Scott Dugas Trucking and Excavation, Henderson Concrete, Theodore Logan & Son Painting, Maine Contract Flooring, Casco Bay Insulation, and AAA Energy for their contributions to a smooth and successful project.
And high praise goes to Matt, Woodhull’s site supervisor, whose energy, communication, and attention to detail kept the project moving forward without compromising craftsmanship at any stage.
This marks the third expansion in the 36 years AEC has occupied this building—another milestone in our continued growth and commitment to serving our customers with high-quality controls design and fabrication made in Maine.
