AEC Engineering is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Desjardins as Controls Engineer. In this role, Jason will be responsible for designing, engineering, and pricing various control solutions. His background in electrical engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD makes him a valuable addition to the AEC team.

Jason earned his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Southern Maine. After brief stints as a machinist and engineering assistant at local companies, Jason put his degree to use during a 16 year career at Bath Iron Works. During this time he supervised the construction and installation of electromechanical equipment of all kinds. He engineered systems that included hydraulic controls, diesel generators, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

After BIW, Jason joined SGC Engineering in Augusta where he changed focus to electrical utility work designing new generation upgrades to the grid. He also worked on hydroelectric plant upgrades. A change in business conditions required a change in jobs and Jason became available to join AEC.

“We are thrilled to have Jason join the AEC team,” said Tim Hooper, President. “With his extensive experience in a wide variety of related industries, Jason will undoubtedly enhance our design-build capabilities and contribute to our continued success.”

In addition to Jason’s electrical engineering capabilities, he is also a certified commercial drone pilot!

Please join us in welcoming Jason to the AEC Engineering family. We look forward to his contributions and achievements as he embarks on this new chapter with us.
